thats hilarious, but so very true. i met a guy from the white mountains in eastern az and they are all kinds of crazy over the pioneer celebration. i could not believe some of the stuff they did. do the lds kids back east do "the trek"? i guess the kids in utah and az do it every other year, re enacting the pioneer trek. they have to wear the clothes, eat the food, no electricity or batteries or anything else the pioneers would not have had. i am so glad that no one even thought of that idea when i was mutual age. i never would have done it. girls camp was bad enough.
Hehe. It's also irritating because you can light fireworks for the 24th, which people do the 23-25th. After 10:00. Which keeps my little girl from falling asleep, exclaiming, "more fireworks!! They go BOOM BOOM!!"

I didn't even know this was a holiday or that people celebrated this till moving to Utah. Do people really celebrate it back home?
