Saturday

Yesterday I did my pre-settlement walk through where the project manager showed me every valve, switch, button, pipe and hose and how to work every appliance. Kind of overwhelming. I hope I remember it all! He also gave me a big binder with every warranty, and a video to watch about how to care for my cabinets. I am sure it will be very riveting. Confirmed that everything was finally reading for settlement Thursday. Today Bought my furniture. It comes with an upholstery shield plan where they will come back and clean any stains from foods or beverages for a lifetime. Should be useful! Set up the moving truck. E-mailed muscly friends and family members to enlist them for moving. Things are coming together which is good. I just wish school would hurry up and get out. It would be so much easier to tend to all of these details if I wasn't so consumed with work stuff. How are things going for all of you?

Over the past month or so I have come to realize...

I really, really dislike being by myself. Like physically by myself in an empty house. Isaac is gone to his dad's. As usual, my parents are gone to Lancaster. TV blaring just so the house doesn't feel so cavernous.... Nothing to do.... All night... No one to talk to... Before I thought that I would love it. But actually I hate it. I hope I don't become a depressed heap when I move.

Our house is

Well sort of. We are still going back and forth with the couple who put in a (low) offer. But I think it will work out. Which is exciting because it will be no more showing the house! YAY! They are looking at a May 29th closing date. I will let you know when I know MY closing date. Hopefully I won't end up homeless for a bit in between.

Silver linings

Apparently while I was at work today about 3897433487 people came through to see the house, requiring my mother to be out of the house with Isaac for roughly five hours. I am praying for our house to miraculously sell in, like, a week because I don't know how much more we can take of this.
Anyways, Isaac has about one more pair of clean pants, so I went to toss some of his clothes into the washer and I see this sign on the door.
Rats. It came out kind of far away and blurry. Well, it says "ELDERLY CAT IN GARAGE". For some reason, this has struck me as hilarious and I have been rolling around laughing about this for the past ten minutes or so. I don't know why on earth our cat was banished to the garage or why any perspective home buyers would possibly need a warning about her, but (in my warped mind) it is pretty hilarious.

Under pressure....

My parents house officially has a For Sale Sign in front of it. It's so sad. It's also means that now everything has to be hidden, boxed up, cleaned up, picked up, etc, because at any moment someone could be coming over to see the place and we have to disappear leaving behind an immaculate house. This does not mix well with a stubborn preschooler who is prone to tantrums...

Check it out
