I didn't so well with my resolutions last year. Here's the list of 2010 Resolutions and the sum of progress made:
Ride my bike to work at least once . Nope. Didn't happen. I think I did finally manage to plot out a way to do it though that won't involve imminent death. The direct way that I drive has no shoulders or sidewalks and would be quite dangerous. And, I carry too much stuff to and from work, that I don't know if riding my bike would really be practical.
Organize office, craft, sewing and scrapbook supplies and start using the office as a functional craft space. I give myself a solid check for this one. The office is in various states of organization, but I have used it as a functional craft space this year for sewing, and cardmaking. Yay! The problem is that my creative process tends involve a lot of mess and disorganization. I have to work on that.
Finish painting the rest of the house. I got quite a bit of the house painted. This year we did all of the hallways, Isaac's room on all three levels, the living room, and the faux painting in the hallway. The only painting that is left to do it the master bedroom, and also I want to repaint the powder room to the rich plum it was supposed to be. It is currently the exact shade of this guy:
Make a loaf of bread from scratch. Nope. I did make lots of other things from scratch for the first time though including dinner rolls, macaroni and cheese, rustic fruit tarts, apple and pumpkin pies, and cheesecake.
Go one week without the internet Completed 1/15. Good thing I got this done before I got my current phone or I never would have made it.
Take at least one mural tour in Philly Ugh, another year has gone by and I still haven't done this. I want to blame my sister, as she spent no leisurely time her this summer and she is usually game for my Philadelphia adventures. Therefore I had no partner in crime, therefore I believe the tours start again
Fly a kite After several foiled attempts in the early summer we did get Isaac's kite up this summer while we were in Ocean City. I failed to take any pictures, but it happened, I swear!
Scrapbook 3 pages a month No scrapbook pages done. I gave away quite a bit of my scrapbook stuff as I cleaned out the office. I just haven't felt drawn to it lately the way I used to. I sort of feel guilty about this oddly.
Work out twice a week. Well, I haven't always been totally consistent, but since I rejoined a gym in the summer I can say with confidence that I excercised much more in 2010 than I did in 2009.
Start composting No. Nothing. Not even close. The more I researched it, the more it just seemed like a lot of work. I dunno. Maybe in the future.
Take Isaac camping Ugh, another fail. The problem with this one is I have no one to come with me. I am scared to camp alone with him, but I don't know who to take along.
Drink 8 glasses of water a day Very hit or miss. If I remember to bring my water bottle into school I do better. Otherwise it will be like, 8 at night and I will be like, "Why the heck am I so parched?" and then I will realize I have drank, like 2 glasses of water all day.
Take a class on something hobby related I did this one. I took a cardmaking class with some girls from work. Not that cardmaking is world's away from scrapbooking, but I did learn a bit about stamping which is something I hadn't tried before.
Make progress towards getting my elementary certification (right now I am highly qualified in elementary ed, but it is more desirable to be dually certified) I made on phone call this summer. Left one message and I never heard back from the guy. I followed it up with one (unanswered) e-mail. And that was all I did.
Floss daily Another total and complete FAIL. I just hate flossing. No two ways around it. And now I have one less tooth.
Read three books before I head to the beach Done! I read Anne of Green Gables, Mary Ellen Edmund's Speaks and Handle with Care by Jodi Piccoult. I also read a ton of books over the summer. I had the usual back to school reading drought, but I have been reading more since I got a whole stack of book for christmas. Yay reading!
Eat more homemade meals and less frozen stuff and fast food I give myself a C on this one. Which is an improvement on my solid F from the year before.
Grow something edible and eat it I had a basil plant growing on my window sill for this exact purpose but the cats ATE it. So back to the drawing board on this one.
Write a blog post when each of these is completed Sort of.
